Temprano translates from Spanish as “early” and Tempranillo is the great red grape of Spain, grown in virtually every wine-producing region there. It’s been almost unknown here in California until recent years but is gaining in popularity for its wonderful, deep color, strawberry-like character and tremendous minerality and spice.
This Goosecross Tempranillo presents bright, forward fruit with loads of bing cherry, ripe plum, sweet tobacco, anise and a hint of earth and spice.
