Goosecross is a family winery in Napa Valley that understands that the quality of service and relationship we provide is as important as the wine we serve.

I was 21 and invited to a winemakers dinner, I think it was BV (and this was kind of a while ago!) I had an interest in wines but really hadn't tried very many. Going to this dinner was in the category of "my friends are going and it could be fun."

They poured a dry gewurtztraminer for the first course. Bam!

I was completely gobsmacked that a wine could have flavors of fruit and flowers and pepper and spice, all at the same time. It was kind of like that kind of sex where you get surprised in the hallway and it's total wild weasels and then it's over and you're left in a heap. Only different.

Suffice to say, I was a LOT more interested in wine after that! - j

I couldn't agree with you more, Tom, and thanks for writing! I love it when something I eat or drink evokes vivid memories. Pate and rose--hmmm, sounds very Provencal!!

And isn't it great that rose wines are finally getting some respect again?! All those blush wines really did some damage, but it looks like we're getting back on track and falling in love with Rose again. Nancy

Someone I know likes to remind me that truly great wine is the one that fits the experience.

He's right.

This means that my most memorable wines are likely a collection of Dry Roses that I almost always bring to summer parties among friends I know will last into the night. The wine tastes stellar when it is lined up next to a collection of friends and refreshes the moment as well as the parched palate.

I can not drink a dry rose without thinking of friendsd on a warm summer evening.
